Laminated veneer lumber (LVL) is a layered composite of wood veneers and adhesive. Once it is fabri-cated into billets of various thicknesses and widths, it can be cut at the factory into stock for headers and beams, flanges for prefabricated wood I-joists, or for other specific uses. Veneer thicknesses range from 1.2mm to 4.8mm and common species are Paulonia, Poplar, Pine and Fir.
